The text below was written in July 2021, and sets out the theme of the work for the Salesians in 2022. Dear Brothers, Sisters and Friends, just six months go we gave the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians - as has been our radition since Don Bosco`s time - and the whole Salesian Family, the Strenna for the new year. Six months later, therefore, I have been asked to anticipate what could be the guiding theme for the new year 2022, as the different rhythms of the hemispheres where the Salesian presences are located demand. I do so gladly in the hope that it may be of some help.
The New Year is an opportunity to hope and to start again. We hope for a better future for the peoples of the world, for our brothers and sisters in India and Pakistan, for the people in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, in Israel/Palestine, the people of Sudan, Ethiopia and of North Korea. We also hope for a better future for our family members, our friends, for our parish community and the places we work. And above all it is a new beginning for me. I should look at every birthday, every New Year as a gift God gives. God gives me 365 days to love, to do good, to learn, to enjoy, to teach, to give and to pray. It is a brand new gift we get every year.

``Litany of Loreto Explained`` is highly informative and will surely increase our devotion to Blessed Mother. Each title is beautifully explained. It can be used for our own self-learning and Catechesis.

DB200 RESOURCE: REVIEW OF LIFE IN COMMUNION (Scrutinium Fraternitatis)
ANIMATION NOTES

It is a highly recommended practice to have a Review of our Life in Communion, quite like the way we have a Review of our life of poverty. Fr. James Mathew SDB of Kolkata Province has prepared a resource for conducting such a Review in communities, using the Constitutions and the Letter of the Rector Major ``Let Us Bring to Life the `Utopia` of Fraternity According to the Gospel`` (16 Aug 2014). It can be downloaded from here for use. It includes a handout page for members of the community.

Salesian Lectio Divina for the month of November (No.3) is available as a resource material for DB200. Since in November we celebrate All Saints` Day and All Souls` Day, we are strongly reminded of our Call to Holiness. The theme of the Lectio Divina ``Belonging More to God, more to the Confreres, more to the Young``, taken from the first letter of our Rector Major, shows us a sure path to holiness. The Lectio Divina could be used for any of the Day of the Community or for for any other group animation during this month. It is downloadable from here: SALESIAN LECTIO DIVINA - 3

There is a daily email service begun for the bi-centennial year with Reflections based on the life of Don Bosco, with questions to reflect, and the Word of God that illumines the topic. The main content of the reflection is taken from ``Don Bosco Day by Day`` by Fr. W.C. Cornell.
