A Report of the three-day Council meeting of the Don Bosco YOuth Animation South Asia, held at DBI Guwahati from 3rd to 5th November 2012.
St. Columba`s, New Delhi, was the venue for a 5 day meeting of 550 Major Superiors (Superiors General and Provincials) of Religious Congregations of India, starting from 27th September to 2nd October 2009. Those were the days of learning both together and from each other on a general theme ``Harmonious India`` under five subthemes: Human Rights Issues, Peace Initiatives, Good Governance, Environmental Concerns and Gender discrimination.
Taking this as an occasion I would like to give some general information regarding CRI, its structure, aim and functioning. It is good that we have some elementary knowledge of this structure in the church.

This rather long Provincial Circular is dedicated to Fr. Benjamin Puthota, our dear provincial, who passed away on 27th August, 2009 at Istanbul, Turkey. The circular makes brief mention of the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Congregation, the forth coming Provincial Chapter 7, and the maiden Circular of the Regional. Golden Jubilee of Fr. Michael Maddichetty and Fr. Thomas Chinnappa are announced. There is a special reference to the untimely death of the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in a helicopter crash. The circular concludes referring to the Birthday of Mary., our Blessed Mother.

The SPCSA encourages all provinces, commissions, institutions, etc to network their respective websites (if they already have them) with the SPCSA portal and thus create a grid of national portals in the region. [See BOSCOM Plan 2008-2014]. If they do not yet have their own sites, they are encouraged to do so at the earliest. BIS may offer suggestions and solutions in this regard.

The circular is on the Year of the Priest. It also speaks of the forthcoming Provincial Chapter and the Provincial Visitation. Fr. Provincial congratulates various people for the good work they have done: Human Rights workshop, Vocation camps, Schools and colleges for their wonderful results, summer camps and finally Fr. Showrilu who has done an original work on five of Don Bosco`s narratives as part of his Master`s thesis in Rome. The dates for the consultation for the new provincial are also announced.

Fr. Provincial begins with the Easter greetings and the 75th Anniversary of the Canonisation of St. John Bosco. He shares about the experience of the meeting of the commissions of the province and the preparation of the Provincial EPP. Confreres are reminded about the renewal of vows. Reference is made to the Congress of Salesian Co-operators, the meeting on 17th may with civil society groups leading to the conference on Human Rights during the meeting of the leaders of the communities.
