The South Asia General Body meeting of the Bosco Communications (BOSCOM), the Salesian Social Communications department was organised at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Mumbai from 27-28 July, 2018. The 12 Delegates who participated at this meeting chaired by the Salesian Provincial of Mumbai, Father Godfrey D'Souza, who is also the Provincial delegate who coordinates BOSCOM on behalf of the SPCSA [Salesian Provincial Council of South Asia], included the province delegates, the web-admin and editor of the Salesian Bulletin. . A new book ''Sukhi Jeewan ka Tantar-Mantar'' was released during the South Asia BOSCOM meeting at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Mumbai on 29 July, 2018. Father Savio Silveira, Vice Provincial of Mumbai Salesians and Convenor of the Don Bosco Green Alliance, released the book amidst thunderous applause. Aimed at the student and young adult segment of society, this resource book on values and emotions, is authored by Father Norbert Damian Xalxo of the Salesian Province of Delhi.. Read More

Panjim, Goa: Kshitij 2018 - A Project Exposition, the first of its kind in Goa, was inaugurated in the august presence of Her Excellency Smt. Mrudula Sinha, Governor of Goa at Don Bosco College of Engineering on July 26, 2018. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor remembered the martyrs on the Kargil Diwas and urged the students to work for the betterment of the nation. The project exhibition was an initiative to promote and showcase innovation and creativity among the engineering youth in the areas from Civil, Mechanical, Computer, Electronics and Telecommunication and Mathematics.. Tura (Meghalaya): The Salesian Province of Guwahati (ING) has inaugurated in July a centre for training India's creamy layer, the civil service officers of the country in Tura, Garo Hills. Christened Don Bosco Academy (DBA), the centre provides training in collaboration with India's premier civil service trainer, Alternative Learning Systems (ALS) at Don Bosco College, Tura. The centre aims to reach out to students of Garo Hills and adjoining regions. It has the backing of the entire province, the local church, government and lay collaborators. . Read More

(ANS - Vatican City) - A conference titled ''Saving Our Common Home and the Future of Life on Earth'' was organized by the Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development to celebrate the third anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si'. This conference, held over two days on 5-6 July at the Synod Hall in the Vatican, brought together about 400 delegates, which included environmental experts and activists, scientists, economists, politicians, representatives of various global networks, as well as high-ranking UN officials.
