SRI LANKAN REFUGEE SKILL TRAINING GRADUATION DAY AT THANJAVUR

Tiruchy, Jul. 10. The fifth batch of Sri Lankan Refugee Skill training has been completed and the Graduation Day was organized on 5th July 2015 at Don Bosco, Thanjaur.  About 840 Sri Lankan Tamil refugee beneficiaries (both skill training and women welfare club beneficiaries) and 53 Staff members participated.  Fr. Albert Johnson, sdb., the Provincial of Don Bosco Trichy province presided over the function at which Mr. Neil Holland from the Salesian Missions, New Rochelle, USA and Mr.Satchithananda Valan Michael the Associate Repatriation Officer, UNHCR India were present as special Guests. Women from 13 camps, who were undergoing garments making training, displayed their products such as, readymade garments and handicrafts.  
The function began with a prayer song by the Women Club Members of Moongilorani Camp  and followed by a welcome dance by the Skill Training students of Namakkal.  Father Santhanaraj, sdb., Economer, Salesian Province of Tiruchy welcomed the participants.  Father John, sdb., Rector, Don Bosco, Thanjavur  felicitated the guests and participants.  Father Ricopar, sdb., Director, CAUVERI presented a video report on the programme's achievements.  Colourful cultural programmes were organized by the beneficiaries from various camps.  Course completion certificates and trade-related tools were distributed to the successfully completed trainees.  Father Albert Johnson gave his presidential speech. Mr.Stephen Neil Holland gave his Chief Guest Address and Mr. Satchithanda Valan Michael gave his special guest address.  Father Patrick sdb., Director, Don Bosco Vazhikatti thanked the donors, the participants and the organizers.
