DON BOSCO INSTITUTE OBSERVES WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY

Guwahati, Jul. 16. To raise awareness about the importance of investing in youth skills development and to mark the First International Youth Skills Day, an event was organised by the students undergoing skill training programmes at Don Bosco Institute on 15th July at its campus at Kharghuli. The students also put up an exhibition on the occasion.  
Mr. P.M. Philip, Executive Director Functional Vocational Training and Research Society (FVTRS), Bangalore was the Chief Guest at the occasion. He spoke on the importance of skill training and asked the students to give the best in acquiring the skills needed in today's industries. ''The nation needed you today, you have to be productive to the society and not become a liability,'' Mr. Philip said. He also asked the students to take the training seriously so that they are able to support the family.
The programme was also attended by Father Johnson Parackal, the Executive Director of Don Bosco Institute. The Don Bosco Institute in collaboration with the Employment Generation Mission, Government of Assam is planning number of initiatives aimed at developing skills and promoting entrepreneurship among youth, during the mega-launch of Skill India Mission.
