Tiruchy, Jul. 15. ''This is one of the best papers I adjudicated in my teaching experience'' was the expression of the external examiner Dr. P. Elango, Dean of Arts, Department of Social Work, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchy, at the conclusion of the doctoral defense of Fr. Xavier Michael. The experience in the ministry for Young at Risk and the membership at the Juvenile Justice Board, Salem, inspired Father Xavier Michael to choose the theme, ''Effects of Parenting Style and Self Control on Juvenile Delinquency in Tamil Nadu, India.''
With the able guidance of Dr. R. Arjunan, Associate Professor, Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, he journeyed through this theme and the protagonists - children in-conflict-with law in Tamil Nadu. His Viva Voce examination was on 10th July 2015 at the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. University professors, Salesians, friends, his mother and family members were present on the occasion. The Salesian Province of Tiruchy congratulates him on this great achievement and wishes him meaningful ministry among this most vulnerable group. Father Xavier is at present serving as Rector at Don Bosco Nest, Tiruppur.
