The month of August will see several celebrations in the city of Guwhati, the gateway of northeast India, to mark the conclusion of the bi-centenary of the birth of St John Bosco. The state of Assam and the city of Guwahati too will honour the saint of youth Don Bosco and in recognition of the work done by his sons and daughters (Salesian fathers, brothers and sisters, alumni and co-operators) for over 90 years in northeast India (since 1922), will install a life size state of the saint at Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Library junction.. Bangalore: St. Antony's Church, TC Palya, Bangalore witnessed an ocean of people of all walks of life to pay their last respects to their beloved dear departed, Father Thomas Myladoor and Father Arulappa. The funeral mass commenced at 3.00 pm on 20 July 2015 presided by Archbishop Bernard Moras. Father Joyce, the provincial of Bangalore and over 200 priests concelebrated the mass. After the mass at the parish church, the mortal remains were taken to the Kristu Jyoti College cemetery for the final prayers and burial. . Read More
