Responding to last week's floods that ravaged several villages in Assam, Don Bosco University students and faculty have formed three teams to help with relief and rehabilitation. Under the leadership of MSW Department Dr Riju Sharma, two teams swung into action to mobilize relief and rehabilitation materials from Shillong and Guwahati, while a third team has gone to the field camps. . Three younsters, Pearl D'souza, Savio Khare and Andrea Serrao, from Salesian parishes of the Mumbai province travelled to the beautiful state of Telangana on 11 September to take part in the Don Bosco Youth Animation South Asia Groups and Movements Leadership Training programme 2014 at the Don Bosco Provincial House in Hyderabad. They were later joined by other groups from the different Salesian provinces of India. In all, thirty-two youth leaders and youth animators from Tiruchy, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata participated in the programme.. Read More

. Hyderabad: The Administrators of the Salesian Province of Hyderabad held their annual meeting on 21 and 22, September, 2014 in Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. The scope of the meeting was to digitalize and centralize the administration. Fr Sojan, the Economer of the Province, welcomed the administrators and the accountants of the province and introduced the upgraded accounting package (ACME-ERP). He appreciated all the efforts put in for the smooth functioning of the houses by all the Administrators. The presence and active participation of a few lay accountants added variety and colour to the meeting. . Read More

A half day training programme for teachers in identification and prevention of substance abuse among school children was organized by Don Bosco Research Centre (DBRC) and Wamanrao Muranjan school, Mulund in the school hall on September 13, 2014. The mortal remains of Fr. Santosh Minj, who passed away on 15th Sept was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery, Uzanbazar on 16th Sept. The requiem Mass at 2:30 pm was solemnized by Arch. John Moolachira, Archbishop of Guwahati and concelebrated by more than 100 priests and attended by a packed Church, among whom were also the relatives and dear ones of Fr. Santosh.. Read More
