Kolkata, Aug. 21. .   BANGALORE:  BOSCO Bangalore for the past 33 years has been working for the children who found their only solace in the street and this 15th of August became yet another day of great joy and solace for them as we together with our beneficiaries and benefactors and the whole family gathered together to inaugurate the bicentenary of the birth of DON BOSCO, our Father and Founder.
The day's event started with the welcoming of Chief Guest Alok Bajapai, CEO and M.D, Manipal Integrated Services and guest of Honor Antra Bhargava, Board Advisor and Consultant of group CFO with Confident Investor with Bosco Band to the dais. Speaking on the occasion Shri. Alok Bajapai said that BOSCO was doing a commendable work and the children were really fortunate to be part of this organization which is moulding the life of many a child from the streets of Bangalore. Master Bharath Kumar, State President of CREAM network and Kumari Prema from Rainbow home represented the children on the dais.

The importance of the day was introduced by Rev. Fr. Stephen SDB who very meticulously explained to the children who had gathered from various centers of BOSCO in over 500 in number about Don Bosco and about the importance of the celebration.
Later in the evening the staff, beneficiaries and few of our well wishers gathered in the well decorated hall for a meaningful celebration of the Holy Eucharist to mark the beginning of the celebrations officially. The Eucharist we presided over by the Executive Director and Rector Rev. Fr. George P S SDB. He enumerated the need to be more like our father and Founder especially in this world of turmoil and trouble.

On August 16th on the Birth day of Don BOSCO the Salesian community gathered together at 08.00 pm for a beautifully prepared Prayer service. The members of the community had a detailed planning as to the manner in which they would make Don Bosco more familiar to the children under their care.
