Mumbai, Feb. 4. Don Bosco Parish and the Salesian Cooperators Unit  of Borivali were happy and privileged to launch the book ''A Legacy of Love for the Young'' by Fr. Elias Dias sdb on 2nd February, on the occasion of the Feast of St. John Bosco at Don Bosco Parish Borivli,  Mumbai. His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias, The Archbishop of Mumbai, who presided at the eucharistic celebration released the book.
'A Legacy of Love for the Young' is a compact gist of the three themes on the study of Don Bosco, our Rector Major has offered us in preparation for the birth bicentenary of  Don Bosco in 2015.

The book charts a historical sketch of Don Bosco based on available data on the history and culture of his times. It describes the pedagogical method of the educator-saint in a manner that common people can understand and apply. It outlines his simple yet profound spirituality, a legacy of love left to us by the great saint of the Catholic Church of nineteen century.

Fr. Elias has dedicated this book to all the Salesians of Mumbai Province especially to the former Provincials Fr. Ivo Coelho and Fr. Michael Fernandes for the love, care and support they have rendered to the community.

He thanked His Eminence for launching this book, Fr. Godfrey D'souza, the Provincial of the Mumbai Salesian Province for writing the foreword, Fr. Savio Silveira, Fr. Joachim Fernandes, Fr. William Falcao for their constant support, Fr. Colbert DaSilva for designing the cover, and Mr. William Fernandes for printing the book.

Fr Elias Dias  has authored many  publications based on the Salesian, moral  and Gospel values. He has written passionately   on the multifaceted aspects of ''Don Bosco's Marvel'' in a simple yet convincing manner and through it has  shared his deep love, appreciation and inspiration of Don Bosco.  ''This book will help us know, love and re-launch this heritage and legacy of love as we celebrate the birth bicentenary of Don Bosco'', he said.

Fr. Elias stated that there are three reasons why he chose to launch this book from this Parish: First, he is a former Rector (the third) of this house; second, as a Provincial delegate for the Salesian Cooperators, he found the Borivali unit to be one of the most vibrant ones; and lastly because this book is a fruit of the reflection he had shared with this unit during their annual retreat in August 2013.
