DBYA South Asia Board and Council Meeting commences

Kolkata, Nov. 1. .   HYDERABAD:  Don Bosco Youth Animation - South Asia (DBYA-SA) Board and Council Meeting got kick-started this morning at Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. The General Councillor for Youth Ministry Fr. Fabio Attard inaugurated the five day meeting with a moment of prayer, invoking the presence and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Youth Pastoral Delegates of all the South Asian Provinces and the provincial Delegates for the four Dimensions of Salesian Youth Ministry are participating in the meeting which will continue till 5 November.
The primary focus of the meeting will be to study in depth the youth ministry Manual, Salesian Youth Ministry: Frame of Reference, published by the Salesian Youth Ministry department, Rome. While the initial days will comprise of the General Council, the last day will be set aside for DBYA Board meeting.

Participating in the meeting are also the Regional Councillor for South Asia Fr. Maria Arokiam Kanaga, the South Asia Regional Delegate for Youth Ministry Fr. Maria Charles, and two members of the Youth Ministry Team in Rome Fr. Miguel Angel and Fr. Robert  Simon.

The Vice-provincial and Youth Pastoral Delegate of the host province, Fr. Thathireddy Vijay Bhaskar animated the inaugural prayer session, and the provincial Fr. Raminedi Balaraju felicitated the visiting Councillors and the organising team.

''We are not here to offer you our expertise top-down, but we are all on a journey together,'' said Fr. Attard inaugurating the meeting and hitting the right note for the journey begun - a journey not merely of these days of the meeting but the whole journey of the ongoing deepening of Salesian Youth Ministry in South Asia.
