NBCLC Pays Tribute to Fr. Paul Puthnangady SDB

Bangalore, Dec. 20. National Biblical, Catechetical and Liturgical Centre (official organ of the CBCI) organized a condolence meeting in honour of Fr. Paul Puthanangady, who was the second director of NBCLC on 16 December 2013 at Bangalore. The programme began with a mass in Indian Order officiated by Fr. Jacob Thekanath, the third director of NBCLC. After the mass, there was a condolence meeting where people all walks of life shared their experience of late Fr. Paul. About 150 local Religious attended the function.
''We wanted to celebrate a mass in Indian order with Indian bhajans and arathi, a celebration very dear to the heart of Fr. Paul,'' explained Fr. Cleophas Fernnadez, the present director of NBCLC at the beginning of the mass.

During the condolence meeting, Fr. Gilbert Choondal SDB introduced the milestones in the life of Fr. Paul Puthnangady. Among the People who shared their experiences were Fr. Thomas Anchukandam SDB, the provincial of Bangalore, Mr. Jyoti Sahi (the artist), Sr. Anula OP (the first M.Th. student in Liturgy at KJC), Ms. Durga Devi (one of the staff members of NBCLC). There was an audio visual presentation on the funeral of Fr. Paul. Fr. Moncy presented the festschrift on Fr. Paul and presented the book to Fr. Jacob, the third director of NBCLC.

Within a span of 8 months, NBCLC lost two of its former directors, namely, Fr. Thomas Dsa and Fr. Paul Puthanangady.
