JOURNEI 2013 inaugurated at Don Bosco Institute Guwahati

Guwahati, Nov. 24. JourNEI 2013 - the Flagship Business Event of Don Bosco Institute of Management, Guwahati was inaugurated today by Shri. Sanjay Kumar Magoo, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, NE Circle. Mrs. Atreyee Borooah, a well known   entrepreneur  and Managing Director of India Pvt. Ltd, a leading software company in the State of Assam  and Rev. Fr. VM Thomas, the founder director of Don Bosco Institute of Management and presently the Provincial of the Salesians of Guwahati Province graced the occasion as  Guests of Honour.
The event with the theme 'Youth Empowerment' aimed at creating a platform for the young and multi-talented students, academicians, entrepreneurs and managers to share best practices and success stories on empowerment to enable sustainable socio-economic development of the region.

JourNEI 2013 was open to all individuals and groups to provide them with a platform to showcase their multifaceted talents in various fields like business planning, creating advertisements, singing, music, painting, debating etc. The primary participation was from the premier b-schools across the city of Guwahati.

The inauguration of  JourNEI 2013 took place this morning amidst colourful cultural dances presented by the DBIM & DBI students. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Magoo exhorted the young people to dream big, keep their hopes high, work hard and not to quit in the face of failures. He spoke of the immense possibilities that lie before them to become successful entrepreneurs and leaders of tomorrow.

Mrs Atreyee Borooah gave the keynote address on the theme ''Youth Empowerment through Entrepreneurship. Addressing the students, Mrs. Borooah shared her story of success as an entrepreneur in spite of the many odds and challenges she had to face as a young MBA graduate many years ago. She invited the students never to give up their efforts but work passionately towards the realization of their dreams.

In his special address to the gathering, Fr. VM Thomas, the founder director of DBIM spoke of life as a journey from B (birth) to D (death) with a 'C' which stands for choices. He exhorted the participants to make the right choices in life to become successful leaders of tomorrow.

JourNEI 13 coincided with the 9th Foundation Day of DBI. Soon after the inaugural function, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Magoo, CGM, SBI, Guwahati handed over the keys of a SBI sponsored Star Bus to DBI Executive Director Fr. Johnson.
