Guwahati, Sep. 25.  Few people in Salesian India would be familiar with the face of the man who initiated and nurtured Saleisan India's ambitious venture to run a news portal when most other religious congregations did not have a website.
Again when most congregational chapters were debating whether their members should have personal email ids, this man came up with a concept to give to every Salesian in the sub-continent, both priest and brother, the possibility of uploading news stories directly on to the site.

Engineer by training and priest by profession, Fr Joseph Poruthur affectionately called PT, laying down the charge of running the site through its toddler years to its teens, with lots of patience and innovative energy, wrote yesterday (24 Sept) to the members of Bosco Information Service (BIS) saying, ''I thank SPCSA (Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia) for giving me an opportunity to serve our [South Asia] region as the national webmaster since 2001.''

He further wrote, ''now that 12 years have passed, I gracefully handover my office to the new webmaster.  Thank you for accepting me as your webmaster and now accepting my signing-off as well.''

Fr PT did not hesitate to add, ''I express my sincere gratitude to all Salesians and laypersons and for the trust, assistance and friendship enjoyed in the past decade during my tenure as national webmaster of South Asia.''

He expressed ''special gratitude to Mr. Rajan and his JJS Team, Mr. Patric and his BIS Support Team, Consign it, Godaddy-USA and SMS Country for their technical support.''

From today, 25th September 2013, the Don Bosco India national website has a new webmaster Fr. Cleophas Braganza SDB from Mumbai province, appointed South Asia webmaster w.e.f  25 sep 2013. He was missionary initially in Mozambique-Africa (MOZ) and more recently as the social communications delegate of francophone West Africa (AFO). He is currently in the youth services team of the Mumbai province.
