Bangalore, Sep. 16. Don Bosco Youth Animation (DBYA) - South Asia (SA) Groups and Movements organized a training programme for Salesian youth delegates, animators and leaders on 14 & 15 September 2013 at Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore.  There were 31 participants from 8 Salesian provinces of India.  The theme of the training programme was Salesian Youth Spirituality and Building Youth Groups.
The training began with moments of prayer led by Fr. Marcus Lakra.  The lighting of the lamp was performed by Fr. KO Thomas (Vice-Provincial of Bangalore Province), Fr Mondoth Ittira (Rector, Don Bosco Provincial House), Fr Cletus D'Souza (Resource Person), Fr Edwin Colaco (SA Delegate for Groups and Movements) and a representative of the youth.

Fr Vice-Provincial underscored the lead Salesian youth groups need to offer in the challenging nuclear family scenario of today.

The day's sessions were taken by Fr Cletus. He emphasized the need to have vision with action.  After lunch Fr. Brian Moras offered valuable insights into building effective youth groups.  Two youths shared their experience and thus the group discussion was very participatory.

In the evening Fr Cletus presented the elements of Salesian Youth Spirituality (SYS) in a very innovative and humourous way.

During the prayer at the beginning of the second day Fr Cletus connected the participants with Christ through a meaningful service.  During the Eucharist Fr Cletus explained the parable of the prodigal son and presented a glimpse of today's youth.  After the coffee break he continued the session on SYS.  The sessions pointed out ways of being disciples of Christ.

In the afternoon all the provinces presented their reports.  Fr Edwin through his report briefed the assembly the progress of SYM at the national level.  At the end of the seminar all the participants were awarded certificates of participation.  All parted with lots of joyous, fun-filled and interactive memories.
