Fr. Rajadevan Pushpanathan Awarded Doctorate for Study on Don Bosco's Educational Movement

Tiruchy, Jun. 27. Fr. Rajadevan Pushpanathan SDB of the Salesian Province of Tiruchy successfully defended his doctoral thesis probing the ''Historical Development of Don Bosco's Education Movement with a Special Reference to India'' at Madurai Kamaraj University on 27 June 2013.
Professor Dr. Sudershan Singh, of P.S. Telugu University who headed the viva voce as external examiner lauded the work as intercultural innovative and enlightening effort. Guided by Dr. R. Soundarrajan, the convener of the public viva voce examination, who is also Head and Dean of the department of History & Tourism, Fr. Rajadevan made a scholarly analysis of the historical development of Don Bosco's Educational movement especially with reference to its growth and impact on Indian soil.

Among the learned audience were professors, students of the Madurai Kamaraj University, scholars from other universities, and Salesians working in and around Madurai. At the end of the successful defense Fr. Rajadevan was awarded the Doctorate degree for his dissertation.
