BPO Retail and Multi Skill Courses For BPL Youth

Mumbai, May. 21. Don Bosco Technical Institute, Walvanda-Maharashtra launched BPO, retail and multi skill courses for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) youth from Thane district on 6 May 2013. DBTI has added these new courses into the institute with the collaboration of DB-Tech, New Delhi and District Rural Development Authority (DRDA), Thane.
The course inauguration took place on May 6, 2013 at which Mr. Santhosh Rajput from Panchayat Samiti, Jawhar was the Chief Guest. Fr. George Quadros, Asst. Director DB-Tech and Fr. Anaclete D'Mello, Director Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS) inspired the students with their motivational talks. Bro. Alex Gonsalves, Asst. Director BSVS, Mr. Ringu Pillai, National Placement Coordinator DB-Tech, Mr. Mahesh, State Coordinator DB-Tech and Skill training instructors were also present at the inauguration.

DBTI is planning to provide one month free training to 84 BPL youth in three trades. Board and lodge will be free for the candidates. The BSVS team has mobilized the BPL youth from Jawhar, Mokhada, Wada, Palghar and Dhanu Blocks of Thane district. After the completion of the course, students will be provided job placements by the institute. Prior to the commencement of the training, Mr. Ringu Pillai, DB-Tech Placement Coordinator, had conducted an employment opportunities study in the nearby industrial areas and prepared a report which showed that there is a great scope for these youth to get employment in the region after their training.
