Bangalore, Nov. 8. The annual animation programme for the priest confreres in the first five years of their priestly ministry in the province of Bangalore was held at Don Bosco, Aluva, from 4 to 6 November 2013.  32 young priests participated in the programme. Fr. Fabio Attard and other eminent resource persons addressed the gathering.

On the first day, Fr. Fabio Attard, General Councillor for the Youth Pastoral, illumined the gathering on personal spiritual journeys as the biggest asset for youth pastoral ministry. Fr. Joyce Kaithakottil belonging to the Archdiocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly and professor of Sacred Scripture at St Joseph's Pontifical Seminary (Aluva), was the second resource person for the day.  He dwelt on the theme of the personal and the pastoral use of the Bible.

On the second day, Fr. Thomas Anchukandam, Salesian Provincial of Bangalore, addressed the young priests. In the next session, Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly, in a very practical and humorous way, shared ten valuable insights on priestly ministry. The afternoon session was animated by Dr Kochurani, faculty member in the Department of Economics at Bharat Matha College, Thrikkakkara. The topic was \''Feminine Perspectives in Pastoral Ministry\''.

On the third day, Fr Hormis Mynatty, Parish Priest of St Joseph's Church, Vengoor, and Professor of Moral Theology at St Joseph's Pontifical Seminary, Aluva, addressed with expertise and insight the queries of the young priests on issues related to moral theology. The last session was a reading of the Don Bosco Child Policy and the Don Bosco Child Protection Policy of the Salesians of India.

While the priests in the first year of their ministry presided over the Eucharist on the second day, those completing their first five years of priestly ministry presided on the third day.  The participants had opportunity also to meet according to their batches.
