Mumbai, Sep. 28. The Salesian Family Congress 2015 hosted at Don Bosco Liluah, Kolkata from 26-28 September witnessed a grand variety of the 'One Family One Mission of Don Bosco'. Eleven groups of the family shared their dreams, experiences and future possibilities.
Day 02 was the day for each group to discuss and elect their leaders. The Don Bosco Past Pupils had a keenly contested election. Ketan Gala the former president of the Mumbai Province Alumni was elected as the National president for a three-year term.
It is interesting that the national leadership of the Don Bosco Alumni returns back to Mumbai where it all began! Fr Mariotta initiated the Alumni Association, following which it was animated by Fr Desmond Paes. The leadership moved to Chennai and then to Kolkata. After a period of 15 years, it has returned to Mumbai.
Speaking to BISInfo, Mr. Gala said ''it is a huge responsibility and i will try to do my best. With the help of all the Salesians and my colleagues, we will formulate agenda to carry on the One Family One Mission of Don Bosco.''
Fr Vivian D'Souza Mumbai Province Delegate for the Salesian Family expressed happiness ''we are overjoyed that one of our own has been chosen as the National President. We congratulate Ketan and wish him all the best in this responsibility to build up the Don Bosco Alumni in the province and at the National level.''
