Mumbai, Jun. 21. The new website http://salesianfamilysouthasia.com of the Salesian Family Congress of South Asia went live on 20 June, 2015.
The launch of the new website, which offers quick and easy access to essential information on Salesian Family Congress, is part of the organisation's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and availability of information to Salesian Family members of South Asia.

The website has a colourful design and is divided into four sections: SFC 2015, About us, Programme Details, Registration process.  Each page provides detailed information on all four aspects of the organisation's functioning.  The website's user-friendly nature provides users with more efficient access to the organisation's resources.

Salesian Family Congress 2015 is a national assembly of members from these 11 groups present in South Asia to be a part of the concluding celebration of the bicentenary of Don Bosco's birth. This Congress strives to forge stronger bonds of communion in the Salesian Family at all levels and to multiply the force of the members of the Salesian Family to continue the mission of Don Bosco in a visible manner and to make significant impact. The Salesian Family Congress 2015 will be held at Don Bosco Park Circus in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

The Regional Councillor for South Asia Rev Father Maria Arokiam Kanaga SDB has written his message for the launch of the new website.

There are some 41000 members of the Salesian Family in South Asia. While around 30000 of them are registered past pupils and nearly 3000 of them Salesian Co-operators, close to 6700 are Consecrated full-time Members belonging to the various groups that take Don Bosco as the original source of their charism. That is an enormous force to reckon with, since it is a force with a single focus and dedication, bound together by same goals and mutual support. It is in this synergy that we can hope to achieve greater goals for the Kingdom of God and for the poor youth of our countries.

In the past the Co-operators and Past Pupils have been holding their Congress periodically. The whole Salesian Family comes together for a Congress only in 2015, the Bi-Centenary Year of the birth of Don Bosco. The Web of the Salesian Family definitely needs a Website, not only to organize the upcoming Congress, but also to organize itself better in the future, share information, ideas and opinions, synergize and work together on shared objectives. I am glad that Fr. Noel Maddhichetty, the Regional Delegate for the Salesian Family, has taken the initiative to make this website, which I find beautiful, simple to use and functional. While I invoke the blessings of our Father Don Bosco on all who are involved in the making and the functioning of the website, I wish that it may serve the entire family to feel together, and promote each other.

Thanks to Fr. Biji Thomas, Rector of Don Bosco, Liulha and the team who built the website. Log on to the link http://salesianfamilysouthasia.com for the information about the Salesian Family Congress 2015 (SFC 2015).
