Kolkata, May. 5. DBTech-Kolkata in collaboration with Don Bosco Development Office (DBDOC)organized Shilpangon 2013 ( Don Bosco Job Fair) on 4th May, 2013 at Don Bosco SChool Liluah to give employment opportunity to students trained in DB Institutions, Kolkata by offering them possibilities to appear for interview according to their expertise.
SHILPANGON 2013 is the second job fair conducted by DB Tech in Kolkata. It is essentially the Advancement of the work our founder Father St. John Bosco started during his period to meet the demands of the Industrial Revolution. Today Shilpangon is one of its kind where in a wide range of industries meets together in one place and takes part in recruiting a trained youth of several Don Bosco Institutions across Kolkata.

Shilpongon 2013, with the Theme ''Bridging the Skills Gap'' was organised in Don Bosco Liluah on 4th May 2013. Thirty Seven companies from 11 technical trades were present in the fair to recruit 826 youth trained by Don Bosco Institutes of Kolkata Province.

The event started with an inaugural function in the presence of Rev. Fr. Thomas Ellicherail, SDB Provincial of Kolkata Province, the members of the Provincial Council, Rev. Fr. Aikarchalil Jose the National Director - DB Tech India, Mr. P. Roy Director General of BCC, Mr. Abhinav Chandra IAS, Dept of Panchayat and Rural Development Govt. of West Bengal, Prof. S. K. Sanyal President Howrah chamber of Commerce, Mr. Sankar Goswami Regional Head - Siemens and many other dignitaries and Guests of Honour.

The Welcome note by the Rector of Don Bosco Liluah Rev. Fr. Biji Thomas was followed by a panel discussion by the dignitaries which clearly elaborated the need of DB Tech's involvement in policy changes and quality enhancement of technical & Vocational training in the country.

A Digital Book on Don Bosco Technical Institution, Kolkata province was launched by Fr. Provincial of Kolkata Province which will soon be made available online.

DB Tech Kolkata has trained more than 9000 youth in vocational training in both Formal and non-formal as well as short term programs, and arranged placement for more than 75% of them. Every year DB Tech Kolkata trains and employs more than 2500 youth across all its technical institutions.
