Don Bosco, Alangulam.

By Thamburaj Vincent
Tiruchy, Feb. 10. St. Anthony Unites the Faithful at Appayanayakanpatti
More than a hundred faithful gathered around the altar to celebrate the feast of St. Anthony in Appayanayakanpatti, one of the substations of Alangulam, on 25th January, 2011. It was a remarkable day for the faithful, because for the first time they have come together to celebrate the parish feast in the newly built church. The inspiration to build a church in honour of St. Anthony came from Fr. Dennis Arockiasamy SDB, the parish priest. Under the leadership of Mr. Anthony, one of the important heads of the parish, people contributed generously and they have built the Church on their own.

Fr. Jayaseelan SDB, a newly ordained priest, was the main celebrant of the feast. Fr. Sagayaraj Arulkannu SDB, Fr. Dennis Arockiasamy SDB and Fr. John Samuel SDB were the concelebrants. The liturgy was well prepared and helped the people to partake in the Eucharist celebration in a meaningful way. After the Mass, Mr. Anthony hosted a grand dinner for all the faithful. Another happy news was that the Hindu brethren also joined hands in the whole celebrations. This only manifests the ardent unity of the people. This is a very good beginning and we pray that this spiritual quest and thirsts for unity of the people of Appayanayakanpati continues with the grace of God!

- Fr. Dennis SDB
