New Delhi, Aug. 5. Medical Care for the street and vulnerable children in New Delhi is a community development project managed by BOSCO, Delhi in collaboration with Don Bosco Mondo, Germany.
The BOSCO Mobile Medical team provides medical care to the downtrodden and the underprivileged street kids, women and youth in various slums of New Delhi. The team gives counselling which helps them to lead a decent life style and grow with their surrounding environment. Awareness camps are being held to train the adults to deal with the children. Health and hygiene sessions are frequently organized for the street children in and around Delhi. The team follows a specific schedule for each day which is planned by the team coordinator Mr. Ziauddin along with Dr. Vijay, Dr. Sachin, Nurses Jyoti and Mary in accordance with all the respective coordinators at the contact point of van visit.
BOSCO team has chosen locations such as Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Jama Masjid, Usmanpur, Shahadara, Madanpur Khadarand Seelampur to provide medical assistance to thousands of helpless, poor and homeless people who stay around these locations. The medical vans are parked right outside the vicinity of the historical and religious buildings, so that anyone who needs assistance can locate the medical team.  Medical assistance is provided to mothers, who are pregnant or those mothers who are nurturing to the needs of new born children. Initiatives have been taken to give special attention to individuals from the Rohingya ethnic groups who have been denied citizenship in Myanmar since 1982 and are staying in the slums near Madanpur Khadar.
