Seminar on Healthy Adolescence At DB Kokar By Fr. Thankachan Joseph SdbNew Delhi, Feb. 19. Don Bosco English Medium School Kokar, Ranchi conducted a seminar from 15th to 17th February; the theme of the seminar was ''Adolescence.'' Rev. Sr. Dr. Perpetua SAS was the resource person for the seminar. Rev. Fr. Hilarius Kullu SDB, the Rector, inaugurated the seminar in the presence of Fr. Principal and the other fathers and staff. About the theme of the seminar Dr. Perpetua said, ''It is very apt and very essential for all the teens of the present society. If the adolescent stage is taken care of, then they will have a smooth adulthood in the future.''
Rev. Fr. M.J. Davis SDB, the Principal of Don Bosco Kokar, organized a seminar on 'Adolescence'. There were about 130 participants for it. It was held from 15th to 17th of February 2011. Rev. Sr. Perpetua SAS, who is specialized in Gynecology, was the resource person. She has vast experience in this topic. She is a medical practitioner in St. Ann's hospitals Vijayawada, Thiruvur, etc; of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. The seminar began with the lighting of the Diya or ''deep prajwalan''. Then Rev. Fr. Rector, invoked God's presence and guidance upon each of the participants through a spontaneous prayer.
Sr. Perpetua conducted the seminar for the students. On the first day she addressed the children about growth and human anatomy which she explained through some visual aids. The next two days she dealt on how they can be effective teens if they utilized the electromagnetic power within each one. The children at the end of three days expressed their satisfaction. Some pointed out that it was a new topic they heard about and that they wanted to share such topics with others too.
In the evening there was special conference by Rev. Sr. Dr. Perpetua to 23 religious of the parish who were very close to Don Bosco. The theme she dealt with was 'Religious Be the Light of the World.' She dealt on how one should be aware of one's actions and generate electromagnetic power to be the light of the world. Some of the participants liked the theme very much and they invited Dr. Perpetua to their institutions to address the others on this topic.
