Don Bosco Kurla Launches Course In Digital Marketing

Mumbai, Mar. 5. Don Bosco Centre for Learning, Kurla in association with DPU (Digital Professionals Unwired) launched the Post Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing Strategy and Implementation on March 2, 2013.
The Course focuses on the growing needs of the Digital Space. The Course includes detailed modules on an array of subjects viz. Digital landscape, Digital Technologies, different aspects like creative planning and buying of Digital Media, SEO, SEM, and Digital PR. In depth coverage of Social Media is also part of the course, like ORM, Google Analytics, Mobile Marketing, Digital Content, Branded Games, Digital Sales and Digital Entrepreneurship.

The Course content has been created by senior Industry Professionals with a proven track record in the Digital space. The Course intends to empower individuals with industry relevant competencies. Therefore the pedagogy will encourage learning through practical case studies and implementation.

At the inauguration Fr. Adolph Furtado, Director, Don Bosco Centre for Learning, in his welcome address, shared the vision of DBCL which focuses on the empowerment of youth with industry relevant skills. He saw hope in such courses building a new India through equipping youth with professional skills.

The chief guest Ms Danyanada Chaudhuri, COO, Madison, pointing out to the expanding need of professionals in the Rs. 3000 crore Digital Marketing space, applauded this initiative. In her message to the participants she encouraged them to be curious, to live the medium and be creative.

Mr Albert Pereira, Chief Strategy Officer & Digital Lead at Mio Design Pvt. Ltd. and the key player in the designing of the Course shared with the participants the highlights of the Course and the thinking which has gone behind it.

Mr Arnav Neel Ghosh, GM - India & South Asia - Mobile & Regional Digital Director West of Havas Media, presented a detailed scenario illustrating with case studies the critical role which Mobile will play in the Digital Space. He stated that Mobile is a behaviour which has as its prime time 10 P.M. to 1 A.M. We now live in an age where space has disappeared, time is compressed and the smartphone consumer is the leader in the mobile movement.

Mr Tushar Vohra, founder of Mastiff Tech Pvt. Ltd., emphasised the importance of knowing technology if one has to leverage the maximum potential which exists in the digital space. He also reiterated the need for such a professional course given the dearth of professional resources existing in the Digital space.

The Course has begun from March 03, 2013. It is a weekend Course conducted mainly on Sundays, till October, 2013 at Don Bosco Centre for Learning Campus situated near Vidyavihar Station (W) in Mumbai. This is the first of several other programs that DBCL will roll out to enable people to use Technology to become entrepreneurs.
