Guwahati, Feb. 20. The Second day of the 18th Provincial Chapter was held in Don Bosco Institute, Joypur, Kharguli, Guwahati. The Bishop John Moolachira, the Arch Bishop of Guwahati presided over the Holy Eucharistic Celebration.
The theme for study and reflection on the 2nd day of the Chapter meeting was ''Prophets of Fraternal Life''.  It calls our attention to Art. 49. ''To live and work together is for us Salesians a fundamental requirement and a sure way of fulfilling our vocation.

''This is why we come together in communities where our love for each other leads us to share all we have in a family spirit, and so create communion between person and person ... and we become for the young signs of love and unity.''

Fr. V.M Thomas, the Provincial, in his animation talk reminded everyone ''to be the salt of the earth and light of the world''. As ''Witnesses to the Radical Approach of the Gospel'' every Salesian needs to recall the words of Don Bosco, ''For you I study, for you I work, for you I live, for you I am ready even to give my life''.

Archbishop John Moolachira in his homily highlighted a few important dimensions of the theme - Prophets of Fraternal Communion:
(i) We are chosen and inspired messengers of God deeply involved in the life of the people and through them we get in touch with God and thus become mystics and prophets of our time.
(ii) Prophets are Spirit filled persons.
(iii) Early Christian community of the early Church is a model for everyone to imitate.
(iv) Every chapter is also an opportunity to return to the Pentecostal experience.
(v) It is a time to rejuvenate the province.

The entire day was spent for the open discussion on ''A Salesian who is called to be a Mystic, a Prophet and a servant.''
