DoNER Minister graces workshop on the use of modern teaching aids By Fr. Jonas K & Fr. Tarcisius TDimapur, Feb. 15. Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, in collaboration with HCL Info Systems organized a day-long workshop on the utility and necessity of using modern teaching aids in schools and colleges. The workshop, held at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dibrugarh, was attended by over 75 Principals and Headmasters from the districts of Dibrugarh and Tinsukia in Upper Assam. Prof. Ashok Kumar Dutta Director of Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong, delivered the key-note address. Mr. Gopala Krishnan, General Manager of HCL Learning conducted the workshop highlighting the importance and usefulness of 'digischool'.
Central DoNER Minister Paban Singh Ghatowar, interacted with the participants and said that in the matter of education they are more knowledgeable. Hence they should make known their and the students' needs to the Government.
Later addressing the students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Shri Ghatowar said, ''I am always proud of Don Bosco School, Dibrugarh. Whenever we discuss about education, I always mention Don Bosco School, Dibrugarh. The Principal and the teachers have taken teaching as a mission. You too must take learning as a mission. You are learning not only for yourself but also for the society and the nation... I hope to see you in some high and responsible position in the future.''
Prof. Ashok Kumar Dutta, alumnus of Don Bosco, Liluah (Kolkata), former president of the Don Bosco Alumni of Kolkata Province and currently Director of the IIM Shillong as well as member of the Prime Minister's Financial Advisory Committee, strongly urged the students to 'follow the rule of law' and to 'have concern for others around you and be sensitive to their needs.'
