DB Alumni meet at St.Thomas School, Sadiya

Dimapur, Oct. 9. The first ever Don Bosco Alumni Meet of St. Thomas High School, Sadiya was organized on October 03, with much fervour and gaiety in the school premises. The event brought together around 150 past students school and a large number of present students, parents and teachers.
The programme commenced in the morning with the welcoming of Fr. Chacko Kakkanatt sdb, the founder and former director of the school, the teachers, present and past, by the alumni. In their speeches, both Fr. Kottarathil Mathai, Incharge of the institution and Br. Mathew Kaliyaden, Headmaster, thanked the Don Bosco Alumni for organizing the event. Fr. Chacko, in his fatherly talk shared his experiences in establishing the centre and the initial difficulties he faced from various sources.
The main highlight of the day was the cultural progamme, in which, Mr. Vinod Shashen, the SDO (civil, was the Chief Guest. He was given a traditional welcome by the Headmaster, Director and the Scouts and Guides of St. Thomas High School. A number of colourful cultural dances and songs added beauty to the gathering. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vinod Shashen, SDO (civil) of Sadiya sub division released the first ever Past Pupils' magazine 'Nastalgia'. A copy of 'Nostalgia' was presented to the Chief Guest Mr. Vinod Shashen and Fr. Chacko Kakkanatt.
Many Past Pupils spontaneously shared their experiences at St. Thomas High School. There were extremely happy to meet their nursery teacher Miss. Marina Bordra. A common meal was shared by all with much praise for the delicious 'PULAO'.  
The occasion also saw the formation of the DB Alumni unit, with the election of the office bearers. Mr. Rohit Singh (1st batch) was elected as the president, Mr. Biju Mili (3rd batch) as Vice presedent, Miss Antoripa Baruah (1st batch) as Secretary, Miss Aparajita Gagoi as joint secretary, Miss Ritu Sharma as treasurer along with 5 council members namely Dipti Deori, Jacqueline Dao, Sachin Patri, Deonam Subba and Dayananda Saikia.
