Dimapur, May. 23. More than two thousand faithful of Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur, an institution, where Salesians worked in its initial stages, accorded a grand traditional and colourful welcome to the casket of Don Bosco on 22 May. In the morning of 22 May, the casket also made a brief visit to Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre, at 3rd Mile, Dimapur, where it was honoured by the students and neighbours of the institution.
The solemn celebration of the Holy Mass, in the auditorium of the school, initiated the veneration. Later the casket was shifted to the Church, where the veneration was continued, by the various communities taking turns to spend some time in prayers and reflection in front of the relic of the Saint.

Fr. Chacko, Parish Priest, presided over the Holy Eucharist which was joined by around twenty priests and more than two thousand faithful. In the introduction, Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial, explained in brief, about the relic, its history, significance and importance in the Church. During the homily, Fr. Joseph Pampackal, emphasized, the need of being shepherds like Jesus the Good Shepherd and Don Don Bosco, who took care of the sheep.

In the evening the relic was taken to Auxilium Convent, an institution of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, where a night vigil was arranged with the casket.
