Dimapur, May. 15. Shri Tokodabi, Home Minister, Arunachal Pradesh, graced the public homage cum felicitation programme for the casket of Don Bosco, organized by St. Mary's Church, Itanagar, on 15 May.  
''Don Bosco is a great personality, who made a difference in history and continues to make a difference in the lives of the young'' said the Chief Guest, in his speech, to the more than two thousand well-wishers and friends of Don Bosco, gathered for the occasion. He appreciated the work done by Don Bosco institutions for the welfare of the society, particularly the contribution made to promoting peace and harmony in the region, through education. Present for the occasion were also, Mr. Bamung Felix, MLA, other state dignitaries, Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial of the Province of Dimapur, Fathers and Sisters.

Earlier a solemn Eucharistic celebration was held at the St. Mary's Parish Church, in the city, in which Fr. Nestor Guria, Vice Provincial, presided over, concelebrated by other seven priests and more than two thousand faithful joined in praising God for the gift of Don Bosco. In his homily, Fr. Nestor, highlighted the history, importance and significance of the veneration of relic in the Church. The occasion also saw the first profession of eleven co-operators, willingly joining hands with the father and friend of youth, Don Bosco, to further his mission for the poor and abandoned youth. Mr. Bamung Felix, MLA, and several state dignitaries and bureaucrats were also present for the celebration, many of whom were also Don Bosco Alumni.

In the morning of 15 May, the casket made a visit to Catholic Church, Naharlagan, the old state capital, where it was received by the faithful numbering around eight hundred, where the Mass was celebrated, in which Fr. Joseph, Administrator of the diocese of Itanagar, presided over. In the later afternoon, the casket was taken to Noklunglapa, another subcentre of Catholic Church, Naharlagan, where a simple veneration service was held. Fr. Joseph, Diocesan administrator, thanked the Salesians, for having made this possibility for the people to get to know and experience Don Bosco. In the evening the relic was taken to Jully, a sub-centre of St. Mary's Parish, Itanagar, looked after by Don Bosco College, Jully. The Mass, in which Fr. Nestor Guria presided over, also saw 10 new communicants and several new baptisms. The day ended with the veneration of the relic by the students, at Don Bosco School, Itanagar.
