The online interface of BOSCOM & Heads of Networks in South Asia Region Chennai, Jun. 15. BOSCOM, the media network of SPCSA (Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia) held an online meeting of the heads of networks of the South Asia Region on 10th June 2020 between 02:00 pm - 04:00 pm to discuss the strategies for better information flow to the upcoming portal ''donboscosouthasia.org'' which will be the new face of this region.
The strength of the Don Bosco South Asian Networks is the multifarious youth services that span across the region. BOSCOM South Asia which is the network in charge of social communication and branding is in the process of launching a new portal ''donboscosouthasia.org'' under the direction of SPCSA which will be the new face of this region. Towards this goal, a google meeting was organized by Father P. T. Joseph, the webmaster of SPCSA and Father Ernest, the delegate of BOSCOM on 10th June 2020 from 02:00 pm - 04:00 pm. The majority of the network heads joined the online meeting. Father Biju Michael, the Regional Superior, and Father Albert Johnson, the secretary of SPCSA were also present for the meeting.
Father Biju Michael, the Regional Superior in his keynote address to the heads of networks of South Asia region highlighted the importance of the role of each of the networks and the need for fostering communion. Highlighting the feast of Pentecost he said ''the Holy Spirit is the one that creates the best communion through communication.'' He stressed the important role that BOSCOM has to play in promoting this communion through the latest communication technologies.
Father P. T. Joseph, the SPCSA webmaster spoke about the evolution of the donboscoindia.org portal over the last two decades and presented the key features of the upcoming donboscosouthasia.org portal and how the data sharing from all the networks would make the portal a dynamic and a valuable tool for highlighting our works.
The heads of networks made lots of useful suggestions and ideas about gathering and sharing relevant data from across the networks. They also highlighted the need to educate the people in charge on how to use various features of the portals.
Father Ernest Rosario, the SPCSA delegate for BOSCOM briefed about the future proposals for upscaling our media presence and data security for the South Asian region. He also expressed his gratitude to the Regional Superior and the heads of the networks for their support and encouragement.
