Bosco Youth Group Orientation Program enthuse School Students By Royaldeen Shadap and Co.Shillong, Sep. 18. The Bosco Youth Group of Shillong province organised ''Bosco Youth Orientation Program', a unique program of youth animation that brought together 226 students studying in class IX to XII from nine Meghalaya schools for a three-day program, at St. Joseph Sec. School Pynthorumkhrah Shillong. The program that began on 9th Sept and ended on 11th saw a host of renowned youth animators leading the young through a variety of activities and input sessions to greater awareness and resolve to lead better lives.
The Schools that participated in the Program were Sacred Heart Boys Higher Sec. School, Sacred Heart Girls Higher Sec. School, St. Joseph Sec. School, St. John Bosco Boys Higher Sec. School, Stephen Ferrando Sec. School, H. Elias Higher Sec. School, St. Anne Sec. School, Mawtawar, Stephen Memorial Sec. School & Christ School International. They were 226 students from Class IX to XII.
The Program commenced at 3:00 PM with the arrival of the delegates and volunteers. The Inauguration Ceremony started at 6:00 PM, with Shri.AL Hek as Chief Guest. The Ice Breaker session was led by Fr. Anthony Kharkongor and Fr. Michael Makri based on the theme ''We are a Family''. The 2nd day began with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration celebrated by Fr. A.L. Jose. The first session of the day on 'Substances Addiction' led by Mr. Eddy Bosco Shadap and his team, had along with it a short Praise and Worship segment. Shri Phrangkupar Kharbamon animated the second session on 'Career Guidance'. The third input session on 'Social Media Addiction' was animated by Deacon Stephen Biswakarma, Brother Joseph Vanga Reddy and Deacon Dabitlang Cajee from Sacred Heart Theological College Mawlai.
A program called ''TALENT HUNT', to showcase the talents of the participants was also conducted. Sacred Heart Boys emerged the champions and St. John Bosco Sohra the runner up. The day concluded with an hour-long Praise and Worship session led by Donnam Nongkynrih and team.
The final day commenced with a morning prayer led by the students of Sacred Heart Boys, followed by breakfast and an hour-long session by the Coordinator Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot sdb on the topic 'Believing in Yourself'. Trinity Choir from Pynthorumkhrah sang at the concluding solemn Eucharist that Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot and Fr. Anthony Kharkongor celebrated with the participants.
The Cultural Program that started at 1.30 PM had Shri Jemino Mawthoh the MLA of Nongthymmai as the Chief Guest. The cultural program concluded with Music Ministry and an overwhelming prayer led by Fr. Paul Olphindro Lyngkot who was also the Coordinator of the Orientation programme.
