Skill Development Project Inauguration in Loutolim, Goa

Panjim, Jun. 28. The Inaugural function of the second Batch training under the Bosch India foundation and Konkan Development Society (KDS) Skill Development Project was held on 25 June 2013 at the Don Bosco, Loutolim, Goa.

Mr. Ashok Gaurish in his address said that the Bosch India Foundation was established as a trust of the Bosch companies in India which has a vision to enable lives and livelihood through technology and education. He was happy that the targets of the first batch were met and that the placements of the students to jobs were done.

Fr Ian Figueiredo pointed out that the number of students in the second batch has increased due to its successful completion of the first batch. He congratulated the KDS, centre heads and trainers of the project. He also thanked the funding partners for the support in its implementation.

Mr. Bosco Furtado while speaking to the students of Hospitality, brought awareness of the opportunity given to them by the Bosh India Foundation and KDS to bring out their best. He promised the students placement in the Taj group of hotels on successful completion of their training.

Mr Sashikiran and Everson spoke to the students of Computer and Multi-skill domain and conducted a soft skill session on the behavioural patterns in the industry.  ''One has to acquire soft skills and develop polite attitude to be successful in this field,'' they said.

Earlier, Fr Jose Sequeira, Executive Director, KDS, welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Gaurish, Representative, Bosch India Foundation and Head of Bosch Packaging Technology unit,  Fr. Ian Figueiredo, Provincial, Province of Panjim, Mr. Everson Vales, Bosch Manager Manufacturing, Mr. Sashikiran, Bosch Manager Product Engineering, Fr. Albano, Rector of the Don Bosco Loutolim, Mr. Bosco Furtado, Regional Manager Taj Group of hotels and Fr. Micheal D'costa, Director of Quepem Vocational Training Institute. Coordinator of the programme Mr Archangel Pinheiro briefly introduced the guests. Fr. Albano proposed a vote of thanks.
