Panjim, Sep. 9. The professional world today has become more and more competitive and the industry now demands and recruits only those youngsters who have besides qualification, qualities of hardwork, team spirit, dedication and sincerity, said Rev. Fr Leandro Gracias, director of Don Bosco Academy in Hubli on Saturday, 8 September, inaugurating the seventh batch of free skill training programme under Don Bosco Technical India, New Delhi, in association with LIST (Landmark Institutions for Skill Training) Bangaluru.
Fr. Leandro exhorted the youth to give one hundred percent in the training programme so that they are aptly prepared for the demands of the industries.  He advised the students to inculcate in themselves values of self reliance, dependability, and a keen sense of belonging. The three month programme of eight hours of training every day was designed to help them build stamina for working hours and hence regular attendance to class would be a secret to success, he added.

Mr. Thomas Martin, Center Head of First Source, Hubli, addressing the students told them that First Source has always supported the upcoming youngsters and in the past one year many youngsters especially from the rural BPL background trained at Don Bosco Academy have been successfully placed and presently working at First Source.  He advised the students to work hard and to complete their training with dedication.

Center Head Fr. Francis Xavier in his presidential remarked that Don Bosco India has in a big way taken up the skill training programme for youngsters in more than 150 centres all over India, especially for youngsters coming from financially poor background and find it difficult to secure a good education.  The DB Tech center at Sutgatti Hubli to date has trained and placed on job more than 520 youngsters through six batches in IT Enabled Skills (ITES), Industrial Sewing Machine Operator (ISMO) and Electricals.  The training programme also imparts training in spoken English and basic computer skills.

First Source HR Recruiter Prateek, ITES Trainer Subhadra, Electrical Trainer Mallikarjun, ISMO Trainer Rahat, English and Soft Skills Trainer Joseph Rodrigues were also present.
