Don Bosco Primary School Trasi celebrates 1st Annual Day By Fr. Leo PereiraPanjim, Dec. 16. December 16, 2011 will be marked as a memorable day for Don Bosco School Trasi as First School Annual day was celebrated.
To commemorate the occasion Mr. Anand Shetty (Cluster Resource person) was the Chief Guest for the function. The Provincial of the Konkan province Rev. Fr. Ian Figueiredo presided over the function. The other dignitaries on the dais were, Fr. Sunil Veigas (Parish Priest of Tallur), Rev. Fr. Maxim Dsouza (Rector, Don Bosco Shirva), and Mr. Ransam Pereira (President of Gram Panchayat, Trasi). The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Anand Shetty congratulated the management and the staff for bring the school to a high standard within a short span of time (six months). He also wished that Don Bosco Primary school will soon be a model school in the coming years. Rev. Fr. Ian Figueiredo, delivered the Presidential address wherein he appreciated the overall performance of the students, the dedication shown by the teachers and the management. He also said that, the Don Bosco Institute is like a family and congratulated the teachers, students and their parents for being part of it. Later, Fr. Sunil Veigas highlighted the system of education in all Don Bosco institutes. Fr. Maxim, briefed on the holistic development of the child imploring the parents to help them unleash the power within each child. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Anand Noronha congratulated the parents for the trust they had in the management and in the system of education. He appreciated the parents for taking admission for their children and then highlighted a few laurels and achievements in the lives of the students. He then thanked the Provincial and the council for the encouragement and support given right from the start to this very day. He implored Gods blessings on all who were involved in helping this institute in various ways.
Certificates and medals were later distributed to all the students who have won various events in sports and co-curricular activities. Through a power point presentation the Annual report was presented.
The school children then presented a colourful variety entertainment cultural programme wherein all the students participated not only in the items but managed the entire program without the help of the staff. Dances, skits, songs and tableau presentations kept the audience asking for more. One of the guests summed it all by saying, ''Never have I seen such confidence in so many young children''.
Bravo! Well done! Congratulations! Keep it up! Fantastic! Good display of performance, could be heard by all at the end of the gathering.
