Panjim, Nov. 22. ''The aim of sports is not just to win but to enjoy each moment as an occasion to discover oneself....''
SPORTS DAY AT DON BOSCO SCHOOL, TRASI

The long awaited ''Sports day meet'' was held on 17th November for the school children. This great event began with Fr. Anand Noronha, the Principal and Rector, welcoming the students, he quoted Don Bosco saying: ''Run, jump, shout, play but do not SIN'', he then urged the students to enjoy themselves to the full and to give their best in all the sports events.

Fr. Leo Pereira, the Administrator, was the chief guest for the occasion; He declared the sports day open and he gave a short message encouraging the students to participate whole heartedly in the events, he said, ''the aim of sports is not just to win but to enjoy each moment as an occasion to discover oneself, rather then the end of the event'' (prize).

The field for the events was well marked with six lane track; the ground was decorated with lots of flags, colourful banners, sound system and most importantly it was shining with the presence of colourful students.

It was a Happy sight to see the children participating with full of life and energy.... They had 50mts, 100mts, 200mts races, together with sack race, obstacle race, lemon and spoon race, balancing the book, one legged race etc...

Wow!!! was the expression they had on their happy faces as the races began one after another, participants were giving their best and the other crew was encouraging their favorites... what a sight it was just to see all the happy faces, a joyful vibration was felt in the entire campus.  To add an extra flavor to the event we had inter-house relay, Tug of war and the surprise race for the teachers of the school. The occasion was graced by some of the parents.

On the whole the teachers as well as the student body enjoyed this great event to the fullest. It was a grand success.
