Dimapur, Aug. 9. Maram 9 August 2010: It is a necessity for any institute to have a canteen within its campus to serve the needs of its employees and inmates. The more reputed the institute is, greater the expectations and demands to have a standard canteen. This is exactly what DBC, Maram had long felt.
With its student strength going up and its faculty comparatively in balance with the student ratio a canteen was necessary. The college had always felt the need to have a canteen for the students and the staff. The much awaited day finally came when Rev. Fr. Benny James, the principal of DBC, Maram inaugurated in the presence of all the students, staff, support staff and the management. Rev. Fr. P.O Sabastian, the Rector of DBC, Maram blessed the canteen and Fr. MD Varghese and Fr. Roy George, the administrator shared their message on the day of the inauguration of the canteen. Fr. Principal in his speech thanked Fr. Roy George particularly for the effort put in to build up the canteen to its present status. He also acknowledged the contribution of many others towards the materialization of the college canteen. The college Canteen is situated within the compound of the college in a congenial location. Infact, it is no less inferior to any other standard cafeteria of our time. Its management, the standard of the items provided the amenities within the hall and the rates of the items are in complete accordance with any standard canteen of colleges. Its functioning is well organized. Like a cafeteria, a customer does the transaction at the counter and collects the items of his choice from the food corner. Varieties of snacks and drinks are available at DBC Canteen. It is to be noted that food items are prepared most hygienically. The hall is spatial with seating arrangements well maintained. Kudos to our College for its beautiful canteen.
