Assam, Sep. 19.

Don Bosco College, Golaghat, Assam, has been accredited with a B+ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru. Affiliated with Dibrugarh University and run by the Salesians of Don Bosco, Dimapur Province, the college was started in 2015 and scored a CGPA of 2.70 on a 7-point scale in its first cycle of assessment.

A three-member NAAC peer team visited the college on September 2 and 3 and applauded the college for its well-equipped IT infrastructure and a fully solar-powered campus. The peer team members appreciated the various initiatives like digital classrooms and Moodle Learning Management System - BigBlueButton software - for uninterrupted learning. The team also spoke positively about the student diversity and discipline of the college.

The college is committed to finishing the ongoing Research & Development Centre and starting various PG courses soon. The student-centric initiatives and skilful learning have paved the way for accreditation. The pioneering efforts of Father Palely Jose and Father Bimal Laka set the foundation for the college, and Father Polycarp and Father A.  Amaladoss are leading the institution with quality education in the Don Bosco way. The college brings out the best outcome through the indigenous tribal youth empowerment and transformation programmes for the tribal and non-tribal young people of Northeast India.
