Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in Rural India

Tiruchy, Feb. 22. International Women's Day Celebration with the inauguration of women empowerment centre was held at Don Bosco Keela Eral in the Province of Tiruchy on 20 February 2018.
There were 1200 women from 60 villages gathered at Don Bosco Keela Eral to celebrate the International women's day. It was a day of interaction, discussion and sharing of experience with experts and social activist. Mrs. Viji Palanisamy, a leading social activist, animated the gathering on 'Women and Media'. Father Antony Joseph, the INT Provincial addressed the gathering and motivated the women to be change-makers in the society.

Facilitating the empowerment of the rural women, an empowerment centre was inaugurated at Keela Eral. The centre provides training for women on livelihood skills and serves as a place for their meetings and animations. The Province is grateful to German Federal Ministry, to Don Bosco Mondo Bonn Germany. Mrs. Susanne Arzt from Bonn was present for this celebration and invited the women to empower themselves and empower the society. The Programme was coordinated by the Rural Ministry Commission of the Province, Cauveri Development office and Don Bosco community at Keela Eral.
