Trichy District Collector launches a film on child rights

Tiruchy, Oct. 25. Ms. Jayashree Muralidharan IAS, District Collector - Trichy, launched the Child Rights campaign on 22 October 2012, in Trichy district and released Kuzhanthaigal Jakirathai, a short film on child rights jointly produced by Alaihal MEDIA and DB NEST, Tiruppur.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Jayashree IAS, commended Alaihal MEDIA for producing the short film on child rights. She appreciated the delicacy with which the subject has been dealt with. She singled out also the manner in which the child abuse has been portrayed in the film. The message is powerfully communicated without hurting the emotions of people and without showing disturbing images, she said. She described the film as good educational tool for the children, teachers and parents. She instructed the education department and child welfare departments to make the optimum use of the film in their training and seminars. She also recommended other departments in the district to make use of the film in a way that deemed fit for them.

The whole district administration team was present on the occasion. The event was organized in association with Childline. The day also marked the campaign against child marriage, spear-headed by the District Social Welfare Office and Childline.
