Don Bosco South Asia Formation Commission meets online to draft Formation Plan 2020-2026

Mumbai, Sep. 3. The Don Bosco South Asia Formation Commission with 25 participants, that consisted of the Formation Department team, composed of Fathers Silvio Roggia, Raymond Callo and Jose Kuttianimattathil, with the SPCSA Provincial Representative Father Joyce Mathew, Provincial of Bangalore [INK] and the Provincial Delegates for Formation, with the Provincial Vicars, met from 27-30 August 2020. The online meet was chaired by the General Councillor for Formation Father Ivo Coelho.


The primary aim of the meeting was to draft the Regional Formation Plan for 2020-2026 in the light of the GC28; create a forum for the formation of the Provincial Delegates for Formation; and to inform and involve participants in current training issues.

The participants studied various documents, including the Letter of Pope Francis to the GC28; GC28: Post-Chapter Document; the Six-Year Programme Plan of the Rector Major and the Post-Capitular Reflections; the draft of the Plan of the Department for Formation for 2020-2026; and the 2019 Report on Initial Formation in South Asia.
