Assam Varsity Radio Interns Graduate from Radio Salesian

Mumbai, Jul. 11. Sonada - A group of four students of Assam Don Bosco University Guwahati who spent one month internship with Radio Salesian 90.8 FM at Salesian College Sonada graduated on 9th July 2019.
The Under Graduate program Director at North Bengal University Prof. Nupur Das handed over the Certificates while Principal of Salesian College Prof George Thadathil placed the graduation scarf on the trainees.

After graduation ceremony, the trainees and Radio Salesian Journalists had a lunch at the Internship Program Coordinator RJ Samir's home at Sonada.

Station Director Father C.M. Paul complemented students for their enthusiasm and hard work in learning community radio skills.

During the one month internship, the trainees shared microphone for live shows in the 3rd week and in the 4th week each one hosted their own live shows, from 2 pm to 3 pm.

''It has been a fabulous learning experience with Radio Salesian, especially with all RJs going out of their way to help us go on air,'' says BA 2nd semester Mass Communication student Manisha Bhowmick from Assam.

Her colleague from Meghalaya Doreen Ann Lyngdoh adds, ''We enjoyed the hands on training we had at the Radio Station, especially when we shared mic with RJs during their daily six hour live shows.''

''Out door broadcast experiences at Tung and Mirik helped a lot to give us confidence and gain experience to do live coverage of events and link up with studio for live shows,'' says 4th semester Mass Communication student Aruna Lama from Assam.

BA 4th semester Mass Communication student from Arunachal Tasso Konia says, ''Besides training in all aspects of radio program production starting with program topic research, scripting, interviewing, editing and packaging, to anchoring and hosting live shows, it was great fun.''

The second batch of radio interns from Assam Don Bosco University, the trainees will be hosting shows at Radio Tapesia - One for All, All for One - the web / internet radio of Assam Don Bosco University from its main campus at Tapesia near Sonapur some 17 km from Assam state capital Dispur.
