Governor of Goa Inaugurates Kshitij 2018 - A Project Exposition By Province of Panjim, GoaMumbai, Jul. 31. Panjim, Goa: Kshitij 2018 - A Project Exposition, the first of its kind in Goa, was inaugurated in the august presence of Her Excellency Smt. Mrudula Sinha, Governor of Goa at Don Bosco College of Engineering on July 26, 2018. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor remembered the martyrs on the Kargil Diwas and urged the students to work for the betterment of the nation. The project exhibition was an initiative to promote and showcase innovation and creativity among the engineering youth in the areas from Civil, Mechanical, Computer, Electronics and Telecommunication and Mathematics.
Elaborating on how Kshitij can set boundaries and also encourage people to dream, she encouraged students to have more affection and empathy for society, and not just learn to construct or create. She requested educational institutions to create more humans, rather than just engineers.
Fr. Felix Fernandes, provincial of Panjim province, Don Bosco Province, Rector Fr. Paul D'Souza, Fr. Kinley D'Cruz- Director Don Bosco College of Engineering, Principal Dr Neena Panandikar, and Convenor of Kshitij Prof. Ajit Salunke were the other dignitaries on the occasion.
Earlier, Fr. Felix Fernandes welcomed the gathering and explained how the college not only focuses on technical excellence but on providing holistic learning environment that includes everyone.
Kshitij is an annual project exhibition that was introduced as an opportunity to promote employability, innovation and creativity among engineering students. Besides the student projects, several industries have also exhibited their models. These include Shanta Pumps, Infinite 3D, Upgrade, Elementronix, Autotech, Sank Creations. This year Kshitij 2018 will showcase projects in 5 different categories. Around 51 exhibits under Academic category by students of Don Bosco College of Engineering & other engineering colleges of Goa & Karwar, 21 Mini Technical projects and 12 science projects will also be displayed by the students of DBCE.
A project competition is being organized in association with ISHRAE Goa Chapter for school students which has 12 teams participating in senior & junior categories.
Kshitij 2018 will also include the following parallel events; HR Summit, Product Seminar by Bosch & Sika, one day Hands on Workshop on ''Introduction to Robotics'' for secondary and higher secondary school science teachers and Career in Engineering Seminar for the students of Std X, XI & XII.
The event is coordinated by Prof. Sachin Turi and Prof. Mithil Parab.
