Mumbai, Jun. 5. Fr. Brian Moras, National Delagate for Vocation Ministry and Vocation Director of the Mumbai Province was given a loving farewell on June 03, 2012 by DBYS (Don Bosco Youth Services) at the Don Bosco Primary School Auditorium.
Fr. Michael Fernandes, Provincial of the Mumbai Province and Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, Vice Provincial and Head of the Youth Pastoral Core Team of the province graced the occasion. Over 80 youth from across Mumbai gathered to say 'thank you' and 'farewell' to Fr Moras.
Fr. Brian will be immensely remembered for the youthful Salesian way in which he directed, counselled, challenged and journeyed with the young as a spiritual father and friend. ''I am better because of your presence in my life,'' was the constant refrain from many grateful hearts.
The evening with ice-breakers, action songs, and the participation of Fr. Provincial in the games, added colour to the event. A 'T-shirt' was used as the canvas for words of appreciation by the youth in which the acrostic BRIAN MORAS described his personality, with a 100 qualities. Virar youth rendered a farewell song while the DBYS office presented a beautiful visual on the activities and life of Fr. Moras.
Fr. Brian thanked the youth for their show of appreciation and also challenged them once again to discover God's plan in their life. He welcomed Fr. Osborn Futardo, the new Vocation Director and wished him every success.
In a concluding moment, over twenty youth volunteered to form the core group for the year 2012-13 and to take the youth process and programs forward. Cls. Charlin and Joyston with Joe Mani organised the entire event.
Fr. Moras leaves for Visvadeep, Bangalore to pursue a Master's Degree in Theology with Specialization in Youth Ministry. Farewell Fr. Brian, fare you well!
