During the homily, Fr. Provincial shared the reflections of Pope Francis to the clergy of Rome on the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of his ordination. ''What made the Pope happy and proud was not the posts or offices he occupied but the fact that the Pontiff took pride in his priesthood'', commented Fr. Provincial. He also emphasized Pope's insistence to the clergy to be compassionate and merciful to the faithful while exercising pastoral ministry.

The felicitation programme at Don Bosco School auditorium commenced at 12.00 noon compered by Fr. V.C. George. The Jubilee theme song, ''For you I study, for you I work...'' melodiously sang by the pre-novices from Azimganj set the tone for the felicitation. The highlight of the cultural programme was the felicitation of the jubilarians by Fr. Provincial during which he appreciated the contribution of each one to the Salesian mission with their apostolic assignments projected on the Screen. Fr. Joseph Pauria representing North Bengal garlanded the celebrants with the Nepali khadda while many others offered garlands, bouquets and gifts as token of their appreciation. Numerous colourful items entertained the audience.
