Kolkata, Jun. 13. B. Ph Session 2012-13 was inaugurated on June 12, 2012 at Salesian College Sonada. Prior to this a solemn Eucharist was presided over by  Fr. Michael Peedikayil, the Salesian Provincial of New Delhi. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, devotional singing and reading from the Holy Bible and the Bhagavad Gita.
Fr. Tomy Augustine - Rector and HoD of Philosophy, welcomed the gathering. Fr. Joseph Pauria - ViceRector and VicePrincipal presented the annual report.

Fr. Renoy, a new Faculty member presented a paper ''The Theory of Basic Human Goods extracted from John Finnis' ''Natural Law and Natural Rights.'' A profound reflection on natural law, it exposed certain ethical issues.

The bhajans, orchestra and the power-point presentations provided a soothign start to the academic year.

The presence of the professors enriched the event. The climax of the day was a  misty, rain-soaked basketball friendly between the residential brothers of SCS and the Claretians of Dinberger Niketan.
