DB Higher Eucation Meeting in Bangalore

Kolkata, Nov. 10. Don Bosco Higher Education India (DBHEI) had its third biennial meeting at Maitreya, Bannergheta Road, Bangalore on 6-7 November, 2011. It was attended by 40 participants from 38 Don Bosco colleges and one University spread across the ten Salesian provinces of the country.
Fr. Dr Stephen Mavely sdb, the Vice Chancellor of Don Bosco University, and the coordinator of Salesian University Institutions (IUS) India welcomed everyone and Fr Fabio Attard, the General Councilor for Youth Animation addressed the gathering on the 'salesian' dimensions of higher education. Fr Maria Charles, the DBYA delegate for the country, facilitated the two days programme.

Fr Thadeus Gregory and Fr Adolph Furtado, gave input sessions on 'Online Coopeartive Learning strategies' and on 'Synergizing through Networking'. Each of the institutions made an impressive eight minutes power point presentation on the developments in their respective campuses since the previous meeting.

In the Organizational Matters which was the final stretch of the meeting, it was decided that there would be an annual meeting of the general body and an executive board that would see through the details of the implementation or programmes.

The General Meeting of Higher Education of the Congregation will take place next year in July in preparation for which a meeting of the Indian Don Bosco College Principals and Rectors is scheduled for April-May 2012.
