DBYA South Asia meet in Bangalore

Kolkata, Nov. 8. The members of the Don Bosco Youth Animation Board of South Asia met at Don Bosco Provincial House, Bangalore from November 2-5, 2011. There were 15 Salesians from the various provinces of India and the Youth Ministry Department in Rome including Fr. Fabio Attard the General Councillor for Youth Ministry.

On November 03, the team shared the experiences of lay collaboration in Salesian ministry in the various Provinces of India. In the afternoon, Fr. Fabio introduced the participants to the document Rethinking Salesian Youth Ministry. The study resumed on the next day as well.

There was time for personal reading, and group as well as general discussion on the document, which aims to assist the confreres to understand youth ministry in accordance with the changing situations and adapt our service to the young accordingly. Fr. Fabio exhorted the Youth Delegates of the various provinces present, to take up the study in the provinces at the individual, community and province level, in the coming months.

On November 05, the DBYA Board met to plan for the coming year. It was an enriching sharing on the way the various provinces serve the young people of India.
