Kolkata, Jul. 2. .   MUMBAI:  The Don Bosco Matunga Alumni students of the 1969 batch have donated the ''Aqua Pure Water Project''  to their Alma Mater Don Bosco High School, by which nearly 3,500 children will start getting clean drinking water in their school premises.
The occasion that paved way for the project was the meeting of the 1969 batch of the school. It was a great achievement for the batch to meet after nearly 43 years. The group of 65 students who met, committed themselves to give generously to the school which had nurtured them to be what they have become. They decided to give the most essential commodity for living a healthy life: 'A Clean Drinking Water Purification System' for the school.

The CEO of Eureka Forbes, A.V. Suresh, President International Operations, an alumni of Don Bosco Chennai, having installed the project for the school promised that Eureka Forbes company would commit itself to provide clean drinking water for the school children for the next 10 years and would also initiate a project in collaboration with the school for water harvesting and water recycling, the first of its kind when completed for the school in India.

Jayesh Chandan, President of Don Bosco Alumni past Pupils Unit, Matunga said, ''What we are trying to do is catalyze change by exploring and promoting the development of new interventions and new models for the school of Don Bosco Matunga through the Don Bosco Matunga Alumni Past Pupils Unit.''

Fr. Bosco D'Mello inaugurated the plaque of the ''Aqua Pure Water System'' donated by the batch of 1969 and thanked the immense generosity and good will of the alumni. Fr. Wilfred D'souza, Rector of the Don Bosco High School and In-Charge of the Don Bosco Alumni Association, encouraged the past pupils to join the great movement of Don Bosco. He appreciated the generosity of the batch of 1969 and then inaugurated and blessed the Aqua Pure Water System and prayed for their family members.
