By BIS Correspondent
Hyderabad, Oct. 30. The Salesian Province of Hyderabad celebrated seven jubilees of the confreres on 29th October, 2011 at the Don Bosco Provincial House, Hyderabad. The jubilarians, Fr. Panampara Abraham (Diamond Jubilee of Profession), Fr. Thattil Chacko, Fr. Alappat Jose, Br. Susai Dennis (Golden Jubilees of profession), Fr. V. M. George (Silver Jubilee of Ordination), Fr. Raminedi Balaraju, Fr. Gopu Marreddy (Silver Jubilees of Profession) were felicitated for their commitment to Christ and to Don Bosco.
The Jubilee celebrations commenced with a Solemn Eucharistic Celebration at 10.30 am, concelebrated by numerous priests. Many religious, relatives and friends of the Jubilarians were present for the occasion. Most of the leaders of the communities were present to wish, congratulate and pray for the jubilarians after their annual retreat. Fr Pandicherry Joseph, preached an inspiring homily. He elicited the importance of the religious call and commitment and invited everyone to praise God, as Mary did through the magnificat, for all what God accomplished in and through their lives. The Jubilarians, renewed their vows after the communion.
The colourful cultural programme that followed honoured the Seven Salesians, for their fidelity to God, tireless service and innumerable sacrifices in their 60, 50 and 25 years of religious life and priesthood. Fr. Provincial, who himself celebrated the silver jubilee of his profession, thanked the confreres for their contribution in building up the province. While assuring the support and prayers of the confreres, he exhorted the jubilarians, to continue to guide and show good example to younger confreres. The jubilee celebrations concluded as everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal.
